Philanthropy Heritage

From free medicine distribution in the Qing Dynasty to founding schools in the Republic era, the Tang family has always seen giving back to society as their duty.
Centuries of Giving
Blue Fabric Plaster Charity
During the Qing Dynasty, Tang Lao Yi Zheng Zhai upheld the ancestral motto of "healing the world and benefiting the people" by producing special blue fabric plasters for free distribution to the poor. These plasters, wrapped in simple blue cloth, had the same efficacy as the regular products, embodying the Tang family's benevolent spirit of traditional Chinese medicine.
Land Donation for Education
In 1927, Tang Ruzhen, the 8th generation granddaughter, responded to Sun Yat-sen's call for women's liberation by donating over 50 mu (8+ acres) of her personal land to establish the Zhenjiang Women's Vocational School, providing local women with opportunities for education and skill development.
Healing the World, Benefiting the People
"No goods leave the door if ingredients are missing; genuine goods at a fair price" — this is not just a commitment to product quality, but a pledge of social responsibility.
The philanthropic spirit of Tang Lao Yi Zheng Zhai stems from a deep understanding of the TCM philosophy of "practicing medicine to save the world." A healer must not only cure diseases but also care for all people. This spirit has been passed down through generations in the Tang family bloodline.
